GNM (General Nursing & Midwifery)

The general nursing and midwifery course has been designed to cater for the growing need of nurses in healthcare facilities including hospitals, nursing homes, home health nursing clinics, schools, colleges, factories, industries, malls and any other places where there is a requirement of medical care. Students are trained to take patient history, following medical documentation protocols, first aid, preparing and assisting doctors or senior nurses in medical procedures.

3 Years

  • The candidates should be between the age of 17 and 35 years. There is no age bar for Registered ANM / LHV.
  • PUC/+2 (Any Group).
B.Sc Nursing

The B.Sc Nursing programmes emphasise the development of nursing knowledge and the translation of knowledge into practice. The programme promotes the practice of nursing by ensuring that every student acquires the ability to analyse, synthesise, and utilise knowledge gained while learning. The well-structured curriculum, inspiring projects, and diverse community serve as an excellent platform for students to build their skillset and obtain an exponential understanding of various significant subjects.

4 Years

  • The candidates should be between the age of 17 and 35 years
  • Shall have passed 2 years of pre-university examination, with subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology, English (PCBE) papers indivisually and must have obtained a minimum of 45% of marks together in PCB.
  • Shall have passed any other examination conducted by Boards/Councils, Intermediate education established by state or central government and recognized as equivalent to 2 year pre-university examination by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences/ Association of Indian universities (AIU) with subjects of Physics, Chemistry ,Biology and English taken together in the qualifying examination with minimum of 45% of marks individually. In respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes, the candidates shall have passed in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English taken together in qualifying examination with minimum 40% of marks instead of 45% as above.
  • In case of candidates from the stream of Vocational Higher Secondary Course conducted by the Board of Vocational Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala; the candidate shall have passed in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English. In addition to the vocational subject (vide RGUHS Notification No. RGUHS/SEF/EC.B.Sc.Nsg/191/2005-06 dated 18.05.2006) taken together with a minimum of 45% of marks individually.
M.Sc Nursing

The M.Sc Nursing programme encourages students to obtain the knowledge, skills, and expertise required to become an advanced practice nurse. Under this programme, students learn the most relevant theories and the latest skills from health and nursing professionals. The coursework of the programmes is regularly updated to include topical and innovative study areas, which means that students are equipped with the latest developments in the industry.

2 Years

  • B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc. Hons. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks.
